The place has been around for decades and still serves coffee the traditional way. If you're lucky, you might catch them demonstrating how they brew it using cloth filters and clay pots. Definitely worth a visit if you're into local coffee culture!

Very traditional coffee in HCMC. Took an Airbnb tour and the local guid brought us here. Said it is the second oldest coffee in the city. Old style vietnamise coffee preparation. Worth the visit if you are nearby, but wouldn't come here just for the coffee, as it is similar to other traditional vietnamise coffees in HCMC.
I was wandering around these streets trying to find the oldest cafe in Ho Chi Minh City. It's a no frills coffee shop. They have English menu, and it's cash only (bank transfers are accepted via QR code). I was here around 10:00 on a weekday. I saw one of the patrons receiving a food delivery while he was drinking coffee here. There were stairs going up, but I did not venture to see where they led. I ordered a cafe sua da, which was 32k VND. I recommend this drink. It was so good, so strong. I was wired the whole day. Can I get cafe sua da elsewhere for cheaper? Yes. Can I get same vibes elsewhere? Probably. Would I come back? Maybe not.
One of the oldest Vietnamese cafe and coffee made right in front of you. Surprised to see that the coffee was poured into filter bag filled of coffee instead of water. Coffee is certainly strong and deserves enjoyed slowly in the cafe shop watching tourists and locals come and go and chat with people.
If you want a peak into how locals spend their morning, Saigon’s oldest coffee shop is the place to go. We went early at 6am, and it was filled with locals, drinking their coffee, and talking. It is inside a small, residential alley, so you will pass people starting their day. Their coffee is made the traditional way, and if you’re lucky, the owner will show you how. Good place to get traditional Vietnamese coffee. Overall, a nice experience. I recommend going at 6am right when they open :)
